Hey internet

Been working on the game (walking cycles...ughhh), but it's coming along. Instead of using my laptop (a macbook, if you must know) i've been using the family imac, which is in a room with no doors. everyone's always making noise, and people always wanna use it.
don't get me wrong, it's a great computer, it's fast, bright screen, high res, works well with my art stuff BUT the REAL reason i'm using it is:

my macbook is broken.

weeeelll...
the macbook works perfectly.
the problem is the restore disc.

i was running out of space on my hard drive, it made all of my apps go slow, it wasn't nice. i saved my important stuff (power planet files, pr0nz ;) and then i used the tiger disc to wipe my hard drive. i popped in the disc, used disc utility, wiped the drive, everything worked perfectly. but then i try to reinstall the OS. half way through the disc check, it's like "fuck you, your disc is scratched."
THANKS APPLE, FOR LETTING ME KNOW MY DISC WON'T WORK AFTER I DELETED EVERYTHING! YOU'RE ALWAYS SO PREPARED.

I thought the disc would work considering it didn't spit it out when i used disk utility, so i went right on ahead. it's really not apple's fault, it's mine.

i've been trying to get this stupid disc working for a few days now. i've used vaseline, bananas, toothpaste, i even bought a scratch remover kit (which didn't work D:<) from the internet (which time and time again proves to be full of shit).

so now i'm trying to use furniture polish, as some well-meaning but probably wrong guy on the internet suggested. who knows, it could work, but i'm starting to get a little pissed off. i might have to scrounge together some cash when snow leopard comes out, but i'm broke.

anyways, to wrap this up:

LESSONS LEARNED:
1) don't leave valueable discs lying around under piles of electronics for them to get scratched.
2) ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS back up the disc BEFORE it gets scratched.
